Greens animal welfare spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon has called on Bush Heritage to cancel their plans to shoot 500 Eastern Grey kangaroos on one of their restoration properties outside Canberra and prioritise dealing with the recognised threats and threatening processes to the threatened species on the property.

International fur ban puts limit on kangaroo products            

Greens animal welfare spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon has congratulated Humane Society US and its Italian-based animal welfare group LAV, for their work in achieving a permanent ban on the use of fur in Gucci fashion.

“The ban on the use of fur by an international label is particularly significant for Australia as it includes a ban on the use of kangaroo fur,” Senator Rhiannon said.
