Call to the University of Sydney: end witch hunt against Associate Professor Jake Lynch

Australian Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon has called on the University of Sydney's Vice-Chancellor to end his threat of disciplinary action against Associate Professor Jake Lynch.

Senator Rhiannon today joined students, academics and unions to protest against the University of Sydney's attempts to suppress peaceful dissent and their threat to take disciplinary action against Associate Professor Lynch.

"Associate Professor Lynch did nothing more than verbally defend the right to peacefully protest at a talk last month given by Colonel Richard Kemp.

Liberals, Nationals, Labor give win to coal industry - block vote against protection for unique Gardens of Stone

The Liberals, Nationals and Labor have voted down a Greens' motion calling on the NSW state government to extend national park protection for the Gardens of Stone in the Greater Blue Mountains.
NSW Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon said "Labor, the Liberals and the Nationals have sided with coal companies and the Baird government in refusing to support the growing call for an expansion of national park protection for the Gardens of Stone.
