Like Greens policies but worried voting 1 Greens is a ‘wasted vote’ or not safe? Here’s a short explanation of how voting 1 Greens is safe and sound and the best way to kick out Berejiklian:
1/ The Greens want to defeat the Liberals and have announced we will support a Labor minority government on critical bills like confidence and supply. The Greens will vote on every other issue on a case by case basis in accordance with our progressive values in our published policies. Have a look at https://greens.org.au/nsw/platform
2/ The Greens will help keep Labor to its election promises, campaigning in the parliament, in the community and in the media. Having the Greens around helps keep Labor honest. Labor has already lost many disappointed voters to the Greens and has to respond to the community campaigns we’re a part of. The Greens are an insurance policy, but only if you vote 1 for us.
3/ When you vote 1 Greens and 2 Labor, if the Greens candidate doesn’t win, ALL your vote, the full value, 100%, goes instead to the Labor candidate. It’s just not true that you have to vote 1 Labor to kick out the Liberals. We have a preference system that means you can safely vote for the Greens and your vote is not ‘wasted’ - instead it just goes to the Labor Party if you put Labor 2.
