Full text of the Press Release:

Commenting on reports that ICAC has lifted a suppression order on emails between Peta Credlin and Paul Nicolaou, Greens democracy spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon said:

"The ICAC scandals have now reached into the heart of the federal Liberal Party with the Prime Minister's office implicated.

"Emails between Prime Minister Tony Abbott's chief of staff Peta Credlin, controversial Liberal party fundraiser Paul Nicolaou and Brickworks is revealing another layer of political sleaze.

"The federal Liberals are being used to launder donations for the NSW branch of the party and the finger prints of senior Liberals including Ms Credlin are all over the deals.

"Today's news out of ICAC with the release of the Credlin-Nicolaou emails puts the spotlight on the Prime Minister.

"Last night he said he was ‘absolutely confident' that his party had followed the rules.

"The Prime Minister needs to disclose what advice he based this statement on.

"Was Mr Abbott misled by his Chief of Staff or was he trying to cover up for Ms Credlin's involvement?

"The only way out of this major scandal is for Mr Abbott to instruct Ms Credlin to come clean on her involvement and to announce far reaching electoral funding reform.

"The Greens are ready to work with the PM and all parties for reforms that cover a federal ban on corporate donations and federal laws uniform with what has been achieved in NSW.

"Evidence presented to ICAC has killed off the careers of 11 NSW Liberal ministers and backbenchers.
