Australian Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon and animal welfare spokesperson will speak alongside Lyn White, Animals Australia Investigator and Peter Stevenson, Compassion in World Farming (UK) Policy Advisor at the Sydney Ban Live Exports Rally tomorrow. Rallies, organised by Animals Australia, are happening simultaneously in every city around Australia. The Sydney rally begins at 2.30pm in Martin Place.

Australian Greens Senator for NSW and animal welfare spokesperson Lee Rhiannon said, "Rallies around Australia on Sunday will be a fantastic show of strength for how much people care about ending live exports.

“The heat must be kept on the major parties to end live exports and that’s what these rallies will help achieve. Sadly, politicians have a tendency to forget reform when an issue fades from public view.

“The Greens have a bill to immediately end live exports and the suffering and distress caused to animals in the process.

“If New Zealand can cut back its live export trade there is no reason why we can’t either,” Senator Rhiannon said.
