Lee Rhiannon is joining Greens Leader Senator Christine Milne and NSW Greens MP and former Orange City Councillor Jeremy Buckingham in Orange on Wednesday 18 April.
Senator Milne will begin her promised listening tour of regional Australia with a visit to orchardists and graziers around Orange.
“The Greens NSW are delighted that Christine Milne has chosen Orange as the first port of call for her rural and regional listening tour,” said Greens Senator for NSW Lee Rhiannon.
“Christine is the daughter of dairy farmers and on taking the reins emphasised her passion for promoting the interests of farmers and rural Australia.
“A priority for the Greens is food security. One of my proudest days in NSW Parliament was when 300 farmers took buses to Macquarie Street to support my bill designed to protect prime farming land from mining. We lost that bill by one vote but we know the campaign continues.
“Another campaign is driving the transition from coal fired power to clean green energy and manufacturing. This has the potential to create tens of thousands of jobs for regional and rural Australia,” Senator Rhiannon said.
