WHAT: Australian Greens higher education spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon will join academics and students at the National Day of Action picket line.
WHERE: Start at Sydney University gates on City Road (cnr Eastern Avenue) at 12pm. Senator Rhiannon will join the protest march to the UTS picket line. Speeches at UTS will begin at 1pm.

Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon said: “I congratulate the NTEU, NUS and CAPA for keeping the spotlight on the chronic underfunding of tertiary education in Australia and ensuring that it is a key election issue.
“Student debt has risen by almost 30 per cent in six years. An increasing number of students are already missing classes and going without food or other necessities due to their financial pressures.
“The replacement of the Student Start-up Scholarships with a loan is going to further exacerbate this financial stress for students.
“As a wealthy country with a strong economic outlook, Australia should be prioritising investment in our education system from early childhood through to university.
“University and TAFE students and staff at campuses along the east coast have told me of the daily hardships they have to contend with and their concerns about education standards.
“The Greens are calling on the government to reverse its $2.3 billion cuts to higher education and immediately increase public base funding by 10 per cent - costed at $1.5 billion over four years.
