Australian Greens portfolio reshuffle: Senator Rhiannon picks up Housing, Industry and Gun Control

Portfolio allocations for the Greens parliamentary team was announced today. 

Senator Rhiannon has taken on three new portfolios: Housing, Industry and Gun Control. She will retain her portfolios of Democracy, Local Government and Animal Welfare.

“Australia faces tremendous challenges, with the provision of housing affordability one of the most critical if we are to reduce inequality. I look forward to picking up on the leading work of Senator Scott Ludlam in this area,” said Senator Rhiannon. 

“I thank Scott for his outstanding work on the Housing portfolio. 

“Scott got the national conversation started on negative gearing and capital gains tax discounts, and I look forward to continuing that work.

“I also thank Adam Bandt for his work on Industry particularly for his work on the visionary Renew Australia plan.

“Adam and I will continue to work closely together on transitioning Australia to a jobs-rich renewable energy economy,” Senator Rhiannon said.
