NSW Senator Lee Rhiannon will join Greens Cunningham candidate Cath Blakey and Hughes candidate Phil Smith to launch the ‘Protecting our precious environment' campaign.

The campaign calls for improved environmental protections for the Royal National Park and Coastal Upland Hanging Swamps.

The state-wide campaign and release of a 30 page comprehensive report on NSW's diverse natural environments and the dangers they face is supported by former Greens parliamentary leader Bob Brown.

Coalition-Labor back animal cruelty - Govt vet alleged removal exposes latest live export scandal

The alleged removal of a senior live export veterinarian from her job with the Department of Agriculture reveals the level of control the live export industry has over the Turnbull-Joyce government, Greens animal welfare spokesperson Senator Lee Rhiannon said.

New evidence of cluster bombs in Sri Lanka: UN must action

Fresh evidence that the Government of Sri Lanka used cluster bombs in Tamil civilian areas during the civil war in 2009 must not be ignored by the currently sitting UN Human Rights Council, said Australian Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon.

"This evidence is further proof of what survivors of the conflict spoke of seven years ago," said Senator Rhiannon.

"A recently published testimonial by Dr Varatharajah, a doctor working in the former conflict zone, also confirmed the use of cluster bombs on civilian populations.
