Forests

Lee is the Australian Greens forests spokesperson, together with Senator Bob Brown who is responsible for Tasmanian Forests. The Greens recognise the essential role played by mature forest ecosystems in providing a home for wildlife, protecting water resources and storing carbon.

Lee is campaigning to end to the destruction of native forests and the export of woodchips and whole logs from native forests. She is also working to ensure native forests are not used for the generation of electricity and other forms of industrial energy, such as wood pellets.
